CommentsThank you for the critique. Yes she was an utter BITCH! to draw. I went in thinking that this would be cake.............................................................................. As for paper A4? Lol I've been using the shitty sketch pads from Wal Mart. Also I wanted to thank you for not pulling any punches. I know my art work isn't that good yet, and I really like it when people give me legit feedback. Again thank you, and actually that portrait of mine is a little old. I think I did a lot better on my picture of Naked Snake here is the link. [link] That would be my more recent attempt at doing a portrait. I'm still trying to get a firm grasp on drawing the nose however. For some odd reason when I learn to draw something, my understanding of drawing something else just goes right out the window. I use to be able to draw noses before I could draw lips. Now I can draw lips, I can't draw noses.
Shitty sketch pads from Wal Mart?
Thanks for the positive response. And anyways, you've inspired me to draw Lightning now... |
However, for a sketch like this one, you have to observe the original picture very carefully. If there isnt a source image, then that's even more difficult to draw.
The shape of the face is alright, but I feel you could have done more justice to the eyes. The hair deserves a fair bit more volume and tone. You could always try using two or three mediums of pencil. It always helps. Also, blending comes best on A4 paper for soft pencil sketches..
Facial shading is pretty good, but I would like you to note the shape of the nose and the cleft under it.
Overall, I believe a few improvements would really help you enhance your art. The artwork shows potential! i like the effort you put into it, but a bit more technique would really bring it to life!
